Billing Q&A: Changing the Date Format on Statements

The dates on statements are currently shown in MM/DD/YYYY format. Is there a way to spell the date out instead?

You can specify whether dates are shown in MM/DD/YYYY format, or spelled out. This setting is different depending on if you are using Statement Designer or not.

To specify the date be spelled out on statements that are not using Statement Designer

  1. From the Statements menu, point to Statement Setup and select Statement Customization.
  2. On the Options tab, select the Spell statement date on statements check box.
  3. On the Months tab, verify that each of the months are entered as you want them to appear on statements.
  4. Press Ctrl+S.

To specify the date be spelled out on statements using Statement Designer

  1. From the Statements menu, point to Statement Setup and select Statement Designer.
  2. Select the layout that you want to change.
  3. Double-click the @statementDate field.
  4. In the Date Field @statementDate Properties window:
    1. Click in the Date Format field and then click the drop-down arrow.
    2. Select Spelled Out.
    3. Close the properties window.
  5. Press Ctrl+S.
