PracticeMaster Q&A: Ordering Tasks by Priority

August 2019    Tags: ,

Our firm enters a lot of tasks in the calendar. However, when we have multiple tasks due on the same day, it is difficult to determine what we should do first. Is there any way to prioritize tasks so that they are in the order in which they need to get done?

A Priority of 0 – 9 can be specified for tasks, where 0 is the highest priority and 9 is the lowest priority. When multiple tasks have the same date, they will automatically be organized from high to low priority. Furthermore, tasks on the same date with the same priority will be organized by Start Time if one is entered.

To specify a Priority on a task

  1. From the Calendar menu, select Calendar File.
  2. Press Ctrl+N to create a new task, or double-click an existing task.
  3. Select the desired Priority.
  4. Press Ctrl+S.

Note: The Priority field is not available on Event calendar entries.
