How do I bill a client a flat amount for the work I perform?

The client must first be set up as a flat fee client. You then enter fees as you normally would. Once you are ready to bill the client, run the Adjust Flat Fee Clients program to make adjustments, and you can then generate a statement that will show the specified amount due.

To set up a client to be billed a flat amount

  1. From the File menu, point to Open and select Client.
  2. Select the desired Client ID.
  3. From the Rates tab:
    1. Select a Billing Rate Code of 0 – Flat Fee Amount.
    2. Enter the Flat Amount for which the client will be billed.
  4. Enter fees and costs for the client as you normally would.

To bill the client for the flat amount

  1. From the Statements menu, point to Statement Preparation and select Adjust Flat Fee Clients.
  2. On the Client tab, enter the desired Client ID.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Generate a statement.
