Billing Q&A: Tracking Inactive Clients

We want to generate a list of all active clients for whom we haven’t entered any fees or costs in the last six months. Is there a report that will give us that information?

The Client Inactivity Report provides the ability to find clients that have no data entry (i.e., Fees, Costs, Payments, or Client Funds), Statements, Payment Adjustments, and/or Write Offs performed within a user-defined time frame.

To run the Client Inactivity Report for clients with no fees or costs in the last 6 months

  1. In the Quick Launch, search for and select “Client Inactivity Report.”
  2. On the Client tab, make sure that the Client ID and Thru fields are blank.
  3. On the Options tab:
    1. In the No activity in the last field, select 6 months.
    2. In the Items to Search section, select the Fees and Costs check boxes, and then clear the other check boxes.
  4. Click OK.

The report will provide you with a list of all clients who have not had any fees or costs entered in the past 6 months.
