Trust Accounting Q&A: Last Check Number Used

September 2019    Tags: , ,

We have a new bank account and the check number they started us at is 2000. Is there a way to make sure TAS defaults the first check number to 2000?

This can be accomplished by changing the Last Check Number Used field in the Bank Account file for the new bank account.

To change the Last Check Number Used

  1. From the File menu, point to Open and select Miscellaneous.
  2. On the Bank Account tab, select the new Bank Account.
  3. In the Last Check Number Used field, enter “1999” (one less than the first check number to print).
  4. Press Ctrl+S.
