Want a quick and easy way to review your clients’ statements, and take action if necessary? Statement Manager is here!
The new Statement Manager allows you to see a list of statements to determine what has been billed and paid. This makes it easy to quickly locate statements that have been final billed and updated. You can work with statements here using the actions in the Quick Clicks pane, or drill down to the Statement Information window for additional information. A Search box is available to quickly locate information anywhere in the list, such as finding a specific statement number when you receive a check.
Users familiar with PracticeMaster may recognize the functionality of the Quick Clicks pane in the Statement Manager; however, this feature is new to Tabs3 Billing. Using the Quick Clicks, you can:

Download the latest version of the software to get all of the great new features!
As of June 15, 2021, Software Technology, LLC will no longer provide support for Version 18 of Tabs3 Software.
If you are using an older version of the software, now is the perfect time to get up to date with the latest version of Tabs3 Software. You will be surprised at the number of features you’ve been missing! Click here to see What’s New in each version.
In Version 2020, we increased the sizes of various fields in the file structure. Your firm may be affected by these changes if you use ODBC reports or SQL queries to access the Tabs3 data.
Knowledge Base Article R11855, “Field Length Changes,” provides a list of changes sorted by application. You can quickly compare the Version 2020 field length to the Version 19 field length.
Our Knowledge Base can be accessed at support.Tabs3.com. You can also access our Knowledge Base while in the software by selecting Help | Internet Resources | Knowledge Base.
Taskbill is used to export Tabs3 Billing information for electronic submission. Many companies require firms to submit billed fees and costs in a specific format for online electronic billing. Taskbill makes this simple by exporting your existing Tabs3 Billing data into over 100 different predetermined file formats and subformats including LEDES 1998B, Legalgard Parsed Format, LitigationAdvisor, and TyMetrix.
Taskbill also provides flexibility! Information required by some electronic formats is not found in normal Tabs3 Billing fields. You can, however, set up Taskbill to use general text fields such as Custom Fields, Client Notes, and Miscellaneous Lines that are already in Tabs3 Billing to store this information. Exporting the data is as easy as selecting the format you have set up, selecting a client or range of clients, and selecting the statement date. The exported file can then be sent electronically!
To see if the Tabs3 Taskbill Software will work for you, or to purchase a license for your firm, contact your local reseller or consultant, or call our Sales Department at (402) 419-2200. Information about Tabs3 Taskbill is also provided in Knowledge Base Article R10435, “Tabs3 Taskbill Product Information.”
Do you want to keep track of who is logging in and out of Tabs3 Connect, who is getting locked out due to failed login attempts, or who is downloading documents and attachments? The Tabs3 Connect Access Log in System Configuration (View | Log Files | Tabs3 Connect Access Log) contains all of this information! Each Log In, Log Out, Lock Out, and Download entry contains the date and time of the logged item, the User ID of the user who performed the action, and the IP address of the device where the action was performed. Additionally, the download path for documents and attachments is included.

Sometimes you want to see more information about a file, such as whether a field is set to be included on a Conflict of Interest report, or if History Tracking is turned on. Although File Maintenance provides this information, opening it requires users to be out of the software. Instead, run a File Definition Report to get the information you need!
The File Definition Report (Reports | File Definition Report) provides a list of every field in a file, and includes whether the field is protected or required, if history tracking is turned on, if the field is included on a Conflict Report, if the field is restricted, and more. Additionally, the File Definition Report provides a list of indexes set up for the file.
In the Platinum version of the software, the Tabs3 Billing dashboard automatically refreshes itself based on your selected refresh rate. You have the option to refresh every four or twelve hours or to disable the automatic refreshing.
To enable automatic refresh
Note: While the dashboard is being refreshed, a message will be displayed indicating the dashboard is loading.
The Email Statements Report allows you to see the Email Statements that have been successfully sent within Tabs3 Billing. This report can be run for any date range, based on Statement Date or Email Date.

After the payment has been final billed and updated, you can perform a write off for the remaining balance.
To write off a client’s entire balance
An optional Client Write Off Description window will be shown. This provides the option to create a Type 4 “Description Only” transaction as a paper trail for the write off, and can be included on a final statement for the client’s records.
Receipts can be printed for work-in-process payments right from the Payment Entry or Client Funds windows. The Client ID, work description, statement #, receipt type, reference, received by (User ID), date, description, and amount fields will be displayed on the receipt. To use Find and Replace to update a calendar record
When creating Alpha-type fields in PracticeMaster, you can choose to have the field utilize a drop-down list in order to allow specific choices to select from. Once the list is populated, you can optionally restrict the field to only allow using these choices during data entry.

You can now open the Client file and add your field to the Form (Edit | Form Designer).
